Used daily by students and faculty

Designed to make your everyday life easier

PC Automation is easy to use and quick to get started with—even for students and apprentices. With access to the Component Portal, you work with real components and can easily create bills of materials and other relevant lists used in real-world applications.

The free “Getting Started” guide walks you through the process step by step with text and images, and the program also includes examples that show how the assignments are structured.

If you need help, PC SCHEMATIC Support is also available to students, so you’ll never get stuck.

Yes. Symbols and data are copied intelligently—including updates to reference designations

You can create projects just as large with the school version as with the “full” version—in other words, there are no limits on the number of symbols, pages, lists, or anything else. However, you can only download one component at a time from the Component Portal, and you must update it at least twice a year.

The school version differs from the “real” program in that it adds a watermark that says “School Version.”

Yes. You can create control systems using components from the Portal. You can use Panelbuilder to create residential panels with heat loss calculations.

For all project types, the program includes examples with explanations of how they were created. You can start an installation project with a floor plan—which can be imported as a PDF—and place “lights and outlets,” alarms, etc.

You can create your own symbols and use them in the diagram—and use them if/when you create your own components.

The built-in Component Guide helps you create your own components
